Tonight, I am Reminded

Why we as people are constantly living in fear… We now live in a different world. People are cruel. We live in a world now where segregation is starting to become the norm again. We now live in a world where everyone feels unequal to some degree. Who can we trust? Where do we turn if we are in danger? Truthfully, it all scares me. It scares me to think that one day I could be a victim to the cruelty and injustice in this world that we seemingly face everyday. Everyday, I act like everything is fine. I push all of the bad thoughts so far into the back of my head that I am forced to do something else. Truth be told, the chances of me being a victim are far less than I imagine, but that doesn’t stop me from being scared. I am scared. This isn’t the same world I grew up to know. This isn’t the same country that it was ten years ago. We have to go stop the hate, and start spreading the love. We need to find our hearts again. This is the ONLY way we can truly find that happiness again. The ONLY way.
